Down a laneway off Smith Street, in a furniture warehouse that has stood for a century, Stacey Burt has made a skin studio that refuses to shout. Little Company calls its approach anti-beauty, which sounds like a pose until you are inside it. David Goss of Studio Goss dimmed the whole thing right down and built five treatment rooms from brushed linen, lime render, textured stone and reclaimed timber, the light kept low and labyrinthine so you lose your bearings pleasantly. Emerald artworks at the entrance riff on drops of chlorophyll. Every facial is treated as a one-off, informed by the face in front of it. Skin as craft, not correction. Cave-quiet, and better for it.
