In an effort to save us scrolling time, the team at Pinterest have rounded up their top-trending 100 pins of the year in topics such as food, travel, women’s style, and of course our favourite of all, beauty. The topics that made the cut have all shown at least a 25% increase in search and save activity over the past year, and peaking in the last three to six months.
Some of 2016’s biggest beauty trends (such as chrome nails) are expected to remain high on the Pinterest wish list for 2017, and show no signs of slowing down. Newly buzzy trends, such as microblading, are set to take off just in time for the new year.
Below we highlight the top five beauty trends Pinterest anticipates will reign supreme in 2017.
Chrome Nails

Microblading

If you're looking for a way to achieve bigger, fuller brows, microblading may be the answer to all your prayers. Microblading is the latest innovation in brows; a tattoo technique that fills brows out or reshapes them by drawing on tiny lines that look like individual hairs. Brow game: strong.

Kimmy K is fan of the cut crease technique
Cut Crease Makeup
This new technique is used to define the crease of your eyelids by "cutting" across it with a dark eye shadow that doesn't get blended out. Pretty nifty, huh?

Charcoal Masks

Charcoal is the latest skin wonder ingredient. It has been added to cleansers, face masks, and even juices for its ability to absorb toxins and pollutants. It shows no signs of slowing down in 2017.

Ash Balayage Hair Colour
New hair colour trends have been popping up everywhere this year – we saw rose gold and tiger eye dominate 2016. The new year will see ash balayage taking centre stage at the salon. This look entails dark roots and silvery ends with an ashy-blonde colour in the middle. We like.
